ALLOY is the music industry-wide, independent, impartial sync rights data network, which enables everyone in the global sync economy to access a far higher quality of information, than is currently available. Our goal is to standardise the format of the music industry’s critical ‘Sync Metadata’, in order to future-proof the global sync economy for all artists, songwriters, labels & publishers.

A Sync DSP is any online, consumer-facing ‘shop’ where people can buy a license to use a piece of commercial music, in visual media (e.g. social branded content, games, online advertising, etc.)

ALLOY has a number of dedicated tools for you to input your own sync ‘settings’ … at a Company level, at a Catalog level, at a Label level, at an Artist level, or even at a Song level. With ALLOY, choosing the custom sync parameters for your music is a one-time, ‘set-it-and-forget-it’ process, which enables you to determine how your music can (or cannot) be used – on every platform, right across the global digital sync economy.

No. ALLOY is not a competitor to any of the Sync DSPs. On the contrary, ALLOY has been built to (finally) enable more commercial music to flow into the Sync DSPs – crucially, with live, accurate, direct-from-source (standardised) sync rights information attached.

ALLOY has been built for every label, publisher, artist & songwriter in the world. That said, ALLOY has been developed specifically to make it easier for people to licence commercial music, so unfortunately we cannot work with production music / library music / stock music, etc. (and we only accept human-created music).

Yes. In fact, ALLOY is perfectly suited for independent sync reps to be able to manage their roster’s global digital sync business (in addition to work that they do for their labels & publishers in the traditional ‘primary’ sync market). Sync reps naturally have a deep understanding of the global sync economy, so in most cases we’re actually recommending that labels / publishers allow their sync reps to manage their catalog(s) within ALLOY.

No. On the contrary, ALLOY is an essential tool for anyone looking to licence commercial music. As such, ALLOY does not impact/challenge/threaten the traditional sync industry (where Music Supervisors are vital partners for the Music Business) in any way. ALLOY simply provides everyone – at every level of the global sync economy – with more of the information that they need. In one place. ALLOY’s sole objective is to make it easier for people to use commercial music. And that obviously includes Music Supervisors.

Once you’ve signed up (and provided that you are the sync rightsholder), the only information we need from you is very basic, industry-standard metadata, e.g. ISRC/ISWC/IPI/UPC (etc). Data upload templates (for both recordings and publishing repertoire) are available on request. NB – ALLOY is solely a sync rights data portal, so we do not require audio or artwork, etc.
